Banana Power Porridge

Here at home, winter mornings almost always start with a warm bowl of porridge. It’s comforting, grounding, and an easy way to begin the day with something truly nourishing.

This version is extra creamy and packed with goodness. And if you think you don’t like porridge, I promise this one might change your mind. The toppings can be adapted to whatever you have at home. We love hemp seeds, coconut chips, goji berries, and chopped fruit, but feel free to make it your own.

Ingredients

  • 45 g porridge oats

  • 100 ml plant based milk (or water)

  • 1 tablespoon shelled hemp seeds

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
    (or your favourite nut butter)

  • 1 ripe banana smashed

  • 1 coffee spoon of cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon cacao nibs (optional)

Method

  1. Place the porridge oats, the milk, shelled hemp seeds, smashed banana, cinnamon and chia seeds into a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, for 4 to 5 minutes, until the milk has absorbed and the porridge is creamy and piping hot.

  2. Serve topped fruit slices, a drizzle of nut butter, and a sprinkle of cacao nibs, if using, or any other topping you have at home!
